Company history

Dieters Sportshop was founded in November 1977 by Mr. Dieter Reisenhofer. Dieter proved to be a successful businessman from the start, pioneering in many areas and focusing on snowboards, snowbikes and other innovative winter sports equipment at an early stage.

In November 2022 Dieters Sportshop celebrated its 45th anniversary. Markus leads with his wife Daniela (daughter of Dieter) in 2nd generation running the business since October 1, 2011. Dieters Sportshop as a sports store in the sale, rental and service in the middle of the village center and near the ski practice meadow, Westendorf is no longer imaginable without. Every sports enthusiast around the leisure sports in winter as well as in summer, will find a suitable article here.

In winter, the focus is on topics such as ski and snowboard rental, the sale of winter sports clothing, and everything to do with outdoor and ski touring.

Markus has also held a cab and rental car concession since 2012. This allows us to transport guests free of charge who rent their equipment at Dieters or RENThier Sportshop. This free shuttle service is available to all our guests at any time after a short telephone agreement. We are looking forward to your call to take you from your accommodation to the ski rental and back again!

In the summer we have been renting bicycles for almost 40 years. In 1985 Dieter started renting bikes. At that time still tandems and simple city and mountain bikes. Meanwhile, of course, they are high-quality fully e-bike mountain bikes, hardtails and city bikes. Come by and test our latest generation E-bikes. Also for your bike service you are right with us. Situated directly next to the tennis courts in the summer, we are of course your partner around the tennis sport. With our new Head brand tennis stringing machine, we string several hundred rackets per year. In our store you will find a wide selection of rackets from Head and Wilson brands. In addition, of course, you will find tennis shoes and clothing and all tennis accessories from these two top brands.

Another hobbyhorse in our small company is golf. For 5 years we ran the proshop in Westendorf - a Leading Golf Course. We therefore know the golf business very well - in our branch at the RENThier Sportshop at the Alpenrosenbahn we still sell golf clothing and accessories from renowned suppliers in the golf industry. The golf ladies here rave about the MDC and Cross brand, men about Kjus, Abacus, Cross and Luhta. Of course, we also sell golf balls - primarily lake balls, as we are the largest supplier of lake balls in Austria. You can find out more on our homepage at www.lake-balls.de.

Many celebrities have also visited us in our sports stores in recent years. You can also find a small listing of these in the Celebrity Gallery tab. Photos of Markus with the celebrities also decorate the store in the center of the village, which has hardly changed over many years and still retains its original and familiar character.
